3 Benefits of Using Our Hospitality Staffing Agency

March 17, 2015

Are you looking for permanent or temporary employees for your restaurant, hotel or catering business? A hospitality staffing agency can help you recruit hospitality professionals who are already trained and experienced in their prospective roles. With Acrobat Outsourcing, you can focus on running your business and tending to your customers, while we take care of the entire hiring process behind the scenes. Consider these benefits for using our hospitality staffing agency to recruit staff for your business: 1. Save time and money – When you use a hospitality recruiting agency, you can save both time and money. One of the major issues faced by the hospitality industry, particularly restaurants, is high turnover rates. Restaurant managers often spend a lot of time and money hiring and training new employees, only to have them leave for another position within a few months. A staffing agency saves you time and money by only considering individuals who have a serious passion for the hospitality industry. You’ll overcome the challenge of low retention rates. 2. Employees are already trained – The hospitality professionals within Acrobat Outsourcing have to undergo an extensive application and training process. This process includes a written test, oral interview, and reference verification. We only accept the most serious applicants. Once applicants are accepted, they have to partake in a 3-hour training course, “Acrobat Academy”, which covers all areas of the industry. They learn about event set-up, fine and casual dining, restaurant and catering services, as well as many other components of the hospitality industry. We also provide client feedback from previous jobs, plus background checks and references to clients upon request. With Acrobat Outsourcing, you know you are getting only the most motivated employees. 3. Rely on the most trusted staffing agency – Acrobat Outsourcing is the most trusted and fastest growing hospitality staffing agency. We understand that no business is the same. We know the ins and outs of the hospitality industry and can connect you with the best employees for your business. When you choose Acrobat Outsourcing, you can rest easy knowing that your business is in good hands. Whether you need to fill a management role or hire a temporary chef, we’ve got you covered. Visit us online or contact us at 1-800-236-2276 to get started today!

What to Look for in a Restaurant Staffing Agency

March 11, 2015

One of the best ways to get qualified staff members for your restaurant or food service company is to turn to a hospitality staffing agency. Unfortunately, not all staffing agencies do as much for their clients and it can be hard to tell the good companies apart from the bad ones. Considering the impact that a clumsy waiter, a bad organizer, or a sub-par chef could have on your company’s reputation, it’s imperative that you hire only the best! Here’s what to look for when choosing a hospitality staffing agency for your business: 1.  Experience working with your type of business – Every kitchen and front-of-the-house is unique (that’s the best part of the industry!), and not all staffing agencies are familiar with the needs of every setup. For example, a company that routinely places candidates in traditional restaurants or hotels may have little experience finding the right person for the job with a university food service contractor. Kitchen environments can be as diverse as country clubs, catering outfits, museum cafes, hotels, restaurants, and corporate cafeterias. Choose a hospitality staffing agency that has experience working with your type of operation. 2.  Broad pool of candidate backgrounds and skill sets – This should seem obvious, but it’s something that cannot be emphasized enough. Just because a company claims to find candidates for hospitality jobs does not mean it has a large pool of them available. Many generic staffing agencies will simply bill themselves as offering restaurant staff members as well, but that doesn’t mean they’ve courted many people with the right experience. What’s more, there are many diverse skill sets needed to run or work in a hospitality setting, from kitchen managers and sous chefs to banquet coordinators, wait staff, bartenders and support staff like bussers and barbacks. Focus on industry-specific agencies that have a diverse array of hospitality candidates with the exact backgrounds you need. 3.  Assistance with screening and interviewing – The best hospitality staffing agencies not only connect you with candidates, but can pre-screen them using your criterion and even conduct a first round of interviews for you. This saves you time and money on your search. 4.  Timely & Accurate Invoicing – Different restaurant staffing agencies use many varying fee structures but, in general, we believe you should only pay for results. You’ll want to know that your staffing agency is working for you and that they are incentivized to provide only the best candidates possible, all of whom meet and exceed your standards. Always be sure that payroll, taxes, workman’s compensation and fully-bonded insurance are included with your all-inclusive fee.  This helps you keep your peace of mind and ensures a healthy bottom line. What else do you look for in a restaurant staffing agency? If you are looking for the right employees for your restaurant, catering company, or other food industry business, contact us at Acrobat Outsourcing today!

3 Quick Tips for Holding a Formal Dinner Party

January 5, 2015

The holidays may be over, but that doesn’t mean that you won’t be holding any more formal dinners. Indeed, with everyone fighting to cram theirs into a single month, you may have spent more time going to other people’s parties than holding any of your own. As it happens, January and February are much better months to hold parties in than December; not only are they less booked, but cabin fever will have thoroughly set in and people will be looking for excuses to get out of the house. However, you may be worrying about the party itself. How should you decorate? How many can you fit? What should you serve? These and other questions may be making you nervous about the big night. Don’t fret! Whether you are new to entertaining or have simply been pressed for time, these tips will help you to focus on the most important things for your dinner. Table Décor A beautiful table arrangement can help set the mood for any dinner, and it could help make or break your feast. If you don’t have a lot of time to focus on décor, simply head to the florist or grocery store on the day of your dinner and pick out some fresh blooms for centerpieces. All you’ll need to make the table look festive are some seasonal flowers and a few choice vases. If you want to do something extra with the vases, invest in some burlap, ribbon, or tulle to wrap around them. You could also place bowls of colorful fresh fruits like Granny Smith apples, oranges, lemons, or pomegranates on the table for a quick fix. Feel free to put some candles on the table, but don’t pick any scented ones; the smell can interfere with the taste of your food. Seating If you don’t have a lot of time on your hands, planning the seating for your dinner may not seem necessary, but it could really help your event go smoothly. Think about who you’re inviting to the party, and which guests may have things in common with others. Seating like-minded guests next to each other could create some excellent opportunities for conversation, and could help prevent any awkward lulls. It could also help avoid arguments or other awkward social moments around the dinner table. Menu This is by far the hardest and most important part of planning your dinner party. Thanks to food allergies and new diet fads, you can never be sure of what your guests will want to eat. You want to make sure that every guest is able to have something tasty on their plate, but the stress of planning out different meal options and serving them all can be too much to handle. If you want to actually enjoy the party and ensure that your guests have a good time, look into hiring a caterer and party staffing. That way, the food and serving will be taken care of, and you can focus on entertaining your guests.

Acrobat Outsourcing #1 in the Business for the 2nd Year in a Row!

July 17, 2014

At Acrobat, we don’t like to toot our own horn, but we just received some very exciting news. For the second year in a row, Acrobat Outsourcing has been named the #1 fastest growing Hospitality Staffing company in the country by Staffing Industry Analysts!  In a report released today, Acrobat ranked #46 amongst staffing firms of all disciplines, from Healthcare to IT and Office staffing.  However, amongst Hospitality firms, Acrobat once again overwhelmingly succeeded in growth for 2013. Our goal is to take our discipline to the farthest reaches of the US, and to expose new markets to our way of staffing: efficient, cost-effective and friendly.  This ethos has guided us to some pretty amazing places.  Just this year in 2014, we continued our growth by expanding into Houston, Kansas City and Des Moines.  This raises our count to ten offices nationwide with over 4,000 active employees.  It makes us feel great that we can provide so many positions to so many talented staff and at the same time, link them with deserving clients. It also excites us that Craig Johnson, managing editor for Staffing Industry went on to say that, “This is the largest number of companies to qualify for the list since we began producing it in 2005,” and that, “The 2014 list exemplifies the changing nature of the staffing industry landscape.”  This means that our industry is thriving and employers are finding ways to meet their bottom line while still offering positions to the most talented individuals.  Without the hassle of insurance, worker’s compensation, payroll or recruitment, our clients find that staffing with Acrobat saves much more than money.  Our time is valuable in the business world, and with Acrobat, you’ll find you have much more of it. “Create a positive impact” is now Acrobat Outsourcing’s annual motto. Acrobat wants to positively affect their community and staff. This in-house campaign entails volunteering in walking relays, homeless shelters, and animal rescue centers. To positively affect the community, Acrobat understands the need to get involved in order to strengthen the community and influence the lives of those around the company. With the company’s expansion into the Midwest, Acrobat now has a staff of over 5,000 cooks, servers, bartenders, dishwashers and housekeepers. To pay it forward, Acrobat is providing their employees with extra benefits such as health care assistance, a $1,500 Academic Scholarship and more. Acrobat knows that while helping the community is a top priority, they must first create a positive impact in-house before reaching outward. Acrobat has already started the year off with supporting cancer research at the Relay for Life in San Leandro, California. The 24-hour event was challenging, but a rewarding experience for the internal and external Acrobat staff. Acrobat was honored to be involved in Relay for Life as it is a marvelous event and the American Cancer Society is a noble organization. In the future, Acrobat looks forward to supporting Relay for Life in the future as well as many other causes. Throughout 2014, Acrobat plans to continue their yearly campaign. Acrobat will announce the new events and causes they are aiding on their Facebook page or website. You have dreamt this long about swinging open the door and allowing customers to usher in, and there’s no doubt that a swelling pride for your fresh industry is obvious to those around you. If only there was a way to capture this blissful emotion and share it with your potential clientele, expressing to them how willing you are to make sure your business can bring them back for more. If this sounds familiar, the best possible thing to do is throw a Grand Opening party! Advertising is the lifeblood of any business, but does it all have to be obnoxious television commercials or quickly spoken radio spots? Of course it doesn’t! Nothing will bring curious shoppers in faster than the promise of fun, entertainment, and the possibility to win a few prizes! You may even be able to provide food and make a small bit of profit if you take the right steps. By hiring a top class party staff, you can ensure that your future customers will have a great time and a full stomach. Don’t be afraid to go all the way with your Grand Opening Party, make it something the attendees will be certain to remember! Leaving a lasting impression is almost a guarantee that customers will return, ensuring repeated sales and a surefire success. If you hire a dedicated and highly trained party staff to keep everyone enjoying the event, they won’t be able to keep the information from their friends and family. Then, by word of mouth, you will have set off your own little viral marketing campaign. Those friends and family members will stop by to check out your business, giving rise to your first regulars. After all, who doesn’t like to have a little fun at work?
